Backwards

The audience arrives at the vaults shortly before the end, only to see the performance stop and then reverse, back past the point of their arrival to the events before the start at a flat in a neighbouring tower block, played out in backwards action. Some of the audience are brought ‘back’ to the performance space, and then ‘earlier’ driven to the flat to witness a horrific accident. A video link relayed the events live to the remaining audience members at the vaults.
With the usual notions of causality, morality, memory, will and common sense reversed, what remains? Is there evidence that humans improve, or is life one irrational thing after another?
